Hundreds of licensors and licensees visited the Counterpoint Systems stand at the Licensing Show 2005 in New York last week. From June 21-23, over 500 exhibitors were on hand to sign licensing deals and exchange ideas with manufacturers and other industry attendees. With live presentations of ProFiles VII, the world's leading contract management system for licensing, Counterpoint Systems' product experts demonstrated their licensing expertise for the twelfth year in a row.
"The reaction of our clients to the new features of ProFiles version VII has been tremendous," said Jon Robinson, Vice President of Licensing. "We have added dozens of shortcuts and expanded the functionality of several modules, which helps users work more efficiently." Key new features include Contract Revision and Amendment Rollback to return to a prior version of a License Agreement, Multi-product SKU tracking with allocation percentages, Automated linking of Licensing IN deals with Licensing OUT deals for seamless calculation of royalties payable based on royalties received, 2 Additional Revenue models under Accrual methods and Amortization methods, and many more. Upcoming features demonstrated at the show include a detailed Rights Matrix for all rights granted and a Contract Entry Wizard to facilitate a streamlined data entry process.
Another new addition to the ProFiles suite is PDI Connect, a web-enabled module that allows licensees to upload statements for licensors. ProFiles Data Interchange (PDI) has been an optional module for a few years, and PDI Connect further streamlines the process by standardizing the workflow and validating statements before they are submitted. Project Manager Tony Moyer said that clients were delighted to see the new module. "PDI Connect is a logical next step for the system because it streamlines reporting."
