Music Maestro version 6

9 November 2007

Counterpoint Systems is proud to announce the release of Music Maestro Version 6. From its position as the the world’s most comprehensive administration software package for music publishers, this unrivalled application has been improved still further to increase the productivity, efficiency, and reliability of your business.

Music Maestro version 6.0 and the associated release document are now available to download HERE.

The new version contains several new and improved features, all of which are detailed in our release documentation. To make sure you get the most from this we strongly advise that the release document is read by all of your Music Maestro users.

Most of these improvements we have made to the system have come directly as a result of feedback from you, our users, the people that are using the system every day. If you have any suggestions on how you feel we can make the system even better please let us know; we're happy to receive any and all comments.

Music Maestro - Test System

As part of our efforts to ensure that updates to the system affect our users in a very positive way we recommend that you implement a test environment for Music Maestro.

Music Maestro can now support a controlled test environment capable of being installed on the same server and workstations that you currently use. Once installed you simply have an extra icon called “Music Maestro - Test” on your desktop and start menu, which launches the test environment.

Updates to the software can then be applied to either your test system (for initial approval) or your live system (once you’re happy with the new version). In addition to this the update can also copy your live databases into the test system, so you can start testing using your most up-to-date Music Maestro information.

Music Maestro - SQL Server 2005 64-bit compatibility

To further boost performance Music Maestro has been tested under Microsoft’s 64-bit version of SQL Server 2005. This particular version of SQL Server 2005 is designed to take advantage of new 64-bit hardware, specifically designed to drastically improve database performance.
