Counterpoint Systems, is delighted to announce that it has appointed Steve Pitts to the post of Senior Vice President and General Manager. Steve will oversee all day-to-day operations for the company and will work to both strengthen Counterpoint’s dominance in its core markets, and to raise its profile in new and developing markets, such as film and television markets, and product licensing. Steve has with nearly two decades of senior-level experience in information technology and project management, including service as Vice President for Studio and Feature Production IT at 20th Century Fox. The move is part of Counterpoint Systems’ current effort to broaden its marketing reach and to create greater awareness, in the entertainment industry and elsewhere, for its Media Maestro product line and other solutions. “Steve brings a wealth of experience in working with companies, large, mid-sized and small, and in helping them to implement leading edge technologies,” said Amos Biegun, CEO of Counterpoint Systems. “He has the ability to see the big picture and the skill to mobilize teams to carry out sophisticated, multidimensional projects.” For his part, Steve notes that rights, royalty and licensing agreements are becoming more complex due to the globalization of the media industry and the emergence of new media distribution channels - “As the industry changes, companies are encountering rights management issues that are more complicated and need to be addressed in a more sophisticated way,” he said. “Counterpoint Systems has developed solutions that are truly amazing in their breadth and scope—solutions that can be tailored to companies both large and small and can help them streamline operations.” Steve most recently served as Vice President/Services for Mesoft, a developer of digital asset management and workflow solutions used in film and television production. During his previous tenure as Vice President for Studio and Feature Production IT at 20th Century Fox, he managed end-to-end IT initiatives related to film and television production, studio operations, and licensing and merchandising.
