Counterpoint Systems is delighted to announce the appointment of Dan Cox to the newly-created position of Global Sales & Marketing Manager. Dan arrives with broad expertise in broadcast media rights and intellectual property management, and has previously held senior business development positions with Oracle and Sophoi Inc. Managing business development for Counterpoint Systems on a worldwide and multi-industry basis, Dan’s particular focus will be to develop new business among media and entertainment clients at the enterprise level. Dan’s appointment is part of a broader effort by Counterpoint Systems to address the rights, royalty and licensing needs of large organizations with interests in multiple areas of the entertainment industry. “Many of our clients have operations involved in music publishing, music recording, and film and television,” said Counterpoint Systems Vice President Ben Clasper. “Such multifaceted organizations need software solutions that address a whole spectrum of requirements. It is no longer adequate to provide a single product that addresses a single solution; it is about putting together the right team and the right combination of solutions to address the needs of corporate clients as a whole.” Ben sees Dan as the ideal person to assist Counterpoint Systems’ clients with that kind of multidimensional needs, saying “He has the background and the experience to work with our clients at the senior management level and manage software implementations on a large scale”. As part of Counterpoint Systems’ new focus on enterprise solutions, Ben’s role as the company’s chief business development strategist will also change to encompass new business across the music, film, television and product licensing industries. Ben and Dan will be attending the International Broadcast Convention (IBC 2008) this week in Amsterdam to meet with clients and developers of enterprise software, and to review the latest technology developments related to rights, royalty and licensing management. Previous to joining Counterpoint Systems, Dan worked as an independent consultant on media rights management issues. Prior to that, he served as Director of Business Development and Alliances for Sophoi Inc., a provider of rights management solutions for media companies. His background also includes nine years with Oracle in a variety of roles including Business Development Manager/EMEA Media and Entertainment. As such, he successfully established the company’s presence within the media and entertainment industry and served as the company’s chief spokesperson on media and entertainment issues. Discussing his new role, Dan said that Counterpoint Systems is uniquely positioned to assume a dominant role in its field. “I was looking to join a company with a vision for the future, with a great product and with the capability to move forward at a rapid pace,” he said. “Counterpoint Systems has a mature product and a worldwide customer base that is simply unmatched.” For more information, please contact Linda Rosner at The PR Spin: 323.275.1136 lrosner@prspin.net
