“Who knows that the next format for music will be in five to ten years, technology changes so rapidly. But I do know that whichever direction it goes, Counterpoint’s Record Maestro will be there with us to meet the challenge and adapt to the new format.” Paul Morse

midem 2012 Perfect Opportunity to Share Total Licensing Solutions

While this is Counterpoint’s 14th year exhibiting at midem, “this year promises to be completely different because midem has expanded its format to include technology and brands,” says Amos Biegun, CEO of Counterpoint. “We’re excited about the change because it gives us the opportunity to share our complete Maestro suite of solutions across these industries, including our popular music products, online tools, and direct licensing capabilities.” Counterpoint has been building licensing solutions for over 15 years.

The shift at midem is in large part due to the rapid changes in the industry. “Leveraging the connections between music, technology and brands is something we’ve seen the industry is investing in heavily,” says Biegun. “We’ve seen new services surfacing that allow writers and artists to have a better handle on distribution, licensing and royalty collection.” Counterpoint has been there from day one to help these companies establish themselves with the right tools. One of these new and innovative services is Tunecore, whose songwriter service is headed by Jamie Purpora, President Music Publishing Administration. “Counterpoint’s software is at the core of our newly created Songwriter Service,” says Purpora. “Using Music Maestro strengthens our relationships with writers by helping us to provide accurate registrations, reporting and timely accountings of royalties to our songwriters.”

With the convergence of music, technology and brands, Counterpoint clearly has a huge advantage as it has been providing software and services to the brand licensing space for many years. “Counterpoint has invested a significant amount of time and resources towards building functionally-rich solutions to meet the changing needs of clients across licensing industries,” said Biegun. “We’ve known for a long time that what seemed like a disconnected universe, is, in fact, very connected. All of our solutions were developed flexibly enough to adapt to the unique challenges of the evolving business landscape.”
