Module categoriesCategory: LicensingThe Quality Control/Approvals Module tracks each of the product approvals via a series of different projects and stages. A Project represents a single product approval process and a Stage represents a single step from the list of required steps in approving each SKU or product for sale by a licensee. It is fully integrated with all CMS Applications, using the same contracts and support tables. The QC/Approvals system allows you to maintain your own list of stages for each kind of project. For example, Concept Art has certain stages, and Hang Tags may have a different set of stages. Stages can be reused or repeated if necessary. Various details are tracked on each project and stage including important dates, next steps, samples required and received, trademark classes and properties used on the product. You can also merge the information directly into your own Approvals Form (via merge to Microsoft Word) and then send it back to the licensee. A brief workflow for the module includes the following: 1. New projects are set up for each new SKU and assigned to a contract already entered into CMS. Each contract can have multiple projects open at once. 2. Each project flows through the various stages required prior to its approval. Multiple stages can be open at the same time. Due Dates, samples, Next Steps, Completions Dates, and comments are all documented. 3. Each stage can be assigned its own unique Event Queue which forwards the stage to all personnel required to sign off and tracks the approvals. An email reminder is sent to each party to remind them to approve their event. 4. As each stage is approved, the Approval form can be merged and sent to the licensee. 5. As projects are completed, the Create SKU process will add the new approved SKU's to the contract, ready for use in royalty reporting. |
