This section allows for input of sales information for the required reporting periods, automated and accurate calculation of the resulting royalty due (based on the rates set up in the contract). This information is entered and calculated at the product level. In actuality Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) Identifiers are used for each item included in the royalty report. Each SKU definition carries with it an indication of the Intellectual Property (or properties) used and a Product Category/Grouping. With this level of detail, combined with the required inclusion of Territory and Channel of Distribution, the resulting sales and royalty analysis possibilities are almost limitless. With over 8000 combinations of royalty rates, the calculation of royalty becomes a simple click of a button, no matter how complicated the rate. Additionally, the royalty reporting processes allow for entry and calculation of adjustments to Gross Sales numbers. These adjustments, like the sales, are entered and tracked at the SKU level to more accurately reflect any allowable product-specific adjustments to sales figures. Overage (royalties in excess of the minimum guarantee) is automatically calculated.
