This module allows you to run a royalty calculation or final run close without saving the data files to tape. The backup is stored within your AS400, in a library which you specify and with a name you specify, prefixed by the active System, e.g. UK, US.
The On-line Save provides the following benefits:
- Royalty Runs and Final Run Closes can be run without the need for tapes. This is especially beneficial to users with multiple offices operating on a single hub system, for users with a remotely sited AS/400 or for users who wish to dial in out of hours and set off a run.
- The backup process will complete faster.
- Any subsequent restore that may be required will complete faster.
- Cost reduction: the cost of tapes continues to rise as drive capacities increase.
